Creatures are beings of wonder and terror, rare, and often hidden until awakened or angered by the machinations of humanity. In the Perilous Land, heroes will not face flocks of dragons, but will hear legends of a single Long Worm that has existed since time immemorial. Magic is similarly mysterious and otherworldly, and its mastery is the reserve of a powerful few.
