Description
Play It Forward December 2025 Casual Event Player Pack
December 13th, Giga-bites cafe, Marietta, GA
Each player will build a single 500 point Warhammer 40k Army list. After each round, the two players will exchange lists and you will use the list you played against in the previous round in the next round (so if we play 4 rounds, you will play 4 different lists). We’ll play the same layout all day. Please read the event specific list building instructions under “500 point list building restrictions”, they are slightly different from a normal 2000 point list.
Details

Check-in at 9am, first round starts at 9:30am

Models are NOT required to be painted, but it is recommended.
-
Your models will be given to other players to use. If you’re not okay with that, don’t bring those models! Leave the Golden Daemon entries at home!
-
Models must be on the correct base size. Specifically the same size as what is specified in the latest chapter approved. Failure to have a model on the correct base size will result in that model being removed from play.
-
Rules are valid if released and we have new points before the event starts. FAQ, points, and dataslate changes to be evaluated case by case if they drop near the event.
-
Pairings are wins > random. Placings are wins > sportsmanship > points.
-

-
Prepayment for this event is required.
-
Grudges are allowed in any round, but players are discouraged from challenging opponents who have significantly different records (ex. A 2-0 should avoid challenging an 0-2 player)
Waitlist
We will open up a waitlist once the event is full. Contact me on discord (Dingbat) or at this email if you would like to be put on the list. d.purcell222@gmail.com .
Terrain
-
We will use modified layouts from the GW tournament companion.
-
Games will be played on half sized boards.
-
Every piece of terrain counts as a ruin (even crates or trees).
-
First floors count as blocking line of sight. Discuss with your opponent or call the TO ahead of the game if it’s unclear.
-
The small 4x6 footprints count as 2ins high regardless of their actual size. Meaning that units can move over them, but would still have to fully clear the terrain on top.

500 point list building restrictions
In the interest of preventing entirely broken lists and unfun games we’re introducing the follow additional restrictions to list construction:
-
Rule of 1 (only 1x of each datasheet, 2x for battle line and dedicated transport)
-
No units costing above 250 points at the start of the game AFTER character attachment
-
No double attached units (2 characters on one unit)
-
No maxed size units
-
If a unit can be taken as either 5 or 10 models, it must be taken as 5 models
-
Must have at least 3 units at the start of the game AFTER character attachment
-
Be chill
Model handling
This event involves players allowing others to use models that they have spent significant money, time, and effort to bring. To make sure everyone’s models are returned in the state they are brought, we'll be enforcing a few model handling guidelines.
-
No eating while actively playing a game.
-
Wherever possible, grab models by the base
-
At the beginning and end of each game, both players should note the state of the models and call out any damaged pieces to the TO.
-
Even if the player with the list says “it was like this when I got it”, I expect everyone to call me over to confirm each round.
-
If possible, take a quick picture of the armies during the handoff.
-
Please make sure that any models you bring to the event are easily uniquely identifiable.
-
I don’t care if they’re well painted or not, I just don’t want to have to try and distinguish between nearly identical models
-
If you damage models you have borrowed beyond what can be fixed with simple repairs, you are expected to cover the cost of replacement
Paint requirements
None, but the game is way cooler if you do it.
Proxies and conversions
Generally acceptable. Must be the right size and clear to your opponent. Example, don’t say that one model has a lascannon when the whole unit is modeled with bolters. Your opponent would have no way to distinguish. Please ask ahead of time if you have any doubt.
Odd numbers and byes
If we end up with an odd number of participants, one player in the lowest wins/loss bracket each round will play the RINGER. Regardless of the outcome they will get a win and a minimum score of 70 pts. If you play the Ringer you can either choose to take their list or keep the one you used that round.
