So what makes Shovel Knight: Dungeon Duels unique?  The core aspect of the game is all about trying to gather the most gold,  whether it's from defeating enemies, digging up treasure mounds,  damaging bosses, or even taking them from a rival Shovel Knight. We also  have our own unique elements, like side scrolling tiles, jumping over  spiked pits, equipping unique armor and accessories, and fighting  against the dastardly Order of No Quarter!

One of the most unique systems in Shovel Knight: Dungeon Duels  is the side scrolling system involving the games tiles. Players will  always start on the Planes of Passage before they move into one of the  lairs of the evil Order of No Quarter, depending on which boss you want  to face!

Each dungeon tile set has unique mechanics with unique and  increasingly hazardous challenges just like the video game! These  dungeon tiles are tied to whichever boss you decide to face at the end  of the dungeon. King Knight lords over Pridemoor Keep, Specter Knight haunts the Lich Yard, Plague Knight concocts dangerous potions at the Explodatorium, and the Enchantress schemes in the Tower of Fate

  •  Pridemoor Keep tiles have impassable walls. This creates randomly generated mazes that the players will need to navigate around.
  •  The Lich Yard tiles feature Lantern-Spaces. Players may attempt to Jump on a Lantern Space and immediately  jump to another space with in the same action. After a player has  successfully jumped on a Lantern Space, the Lantern is shattered and is  replaced with a spike pit tile.
  •  The Explodatorium features exploding  Potion Vat tiles. When ever a tile has the Potion Vat symbol on a space,  you will place Potion Vat tiles on to that space. Potion Vats are  elevated platforms that players will need to successfully jump on to. If  a Potion Vat is attacked by a player it explodes and does 2 damage to  all adjacent spaces. This may cause and adjacent Potion Vat to explode  causing a chain reaction across the board.
  •  The Tower of End tiles feature  vanishing Mirage Spaces and impassable walls. When ever a player moves  off of a Mirage Space a Spike Pit tile is placed on to that space. This  makes the play area become very dangerous very quickly.
