Gift of Tulips

Gift of Tulips is a game of gifting tulips and building beautiful bouquets with friends. The game evokes the feeling of visiting Amsterdam with friends and experiencing the Dutch culture. Gift of Tulips features artwork inspired by the blue and white delftware pattern that is unique to the Netherlands, the windmills and waterways of the countryside, the flower fields of Keukenhof, and the buildings of Amsterdam.  

When I visited Amsterdam and the Netherlands, I really felt like I was coming home for the first time in my life.  With Gift of Tulips, I wanted to create a game that exemplified my wonderful experience.

Build your bouquet, gift tulips to your friends, and create a beautiful Festival display in this gorgeous card game for 2-6 players.

In Gift of Tulips, tulip enthusiasts explore Amsterdam’s Tulip Festival to build colorful bouquets and give tulips to their friends.

Players choose between building up their bouquet to try to score major points in the end game Tulip Festival, giving tulips to other players' bouquets for immediate points, and placing tulips in the Tulip Festival to adjust each type's ranking. Each turn, players draw one Tulip card, take an action, then draw another Tulip card and take a different action.

Game Setup

Gift of Tulips starts with two tulips in the Festival, then players are each dealt two Tulip cards.  Players choose which will start their bouquet and which to place into the Hidden Showcase that may affect the end game Tulip Festival. 

Gifting Tulips

You can choose to gift a tulip to another player. You gain the value of the tulip given, plus additional points based on the type's current rank in the Festival.

Keeping Tulips

You can choose to keep a tulip for your own bouquet. If you keep a tulip that is ranked 3, 4, or is currently unranked, you will also gain points.

Adding to the Festival

The last choice is to add the Tulip to the Festival.  You can change how the Tulips are currently ranked by adding the Tulip straight to the Festival OR choose to add it to the Hidden Showcase for a chance to influence the ranks at the end of the game.

Game End

At the end of the game, up to 5 Tulips from the Hidden Showcase are added to the Tulip Festival, adjusting the final ranking. Points are awarded to the players that have the most cards of each Tulip type. The player with the most points wins!
